2. Planning estimates, not guarantees
All outputs — stocking levels, heater wattage, filter flow, substrate volume, weight, compatibility verdicts — are planning estimates. They cannot account for your specific water source, livestock condition, or husbandry style, and they are not guarantees of biological carrying capacity. Final husbandry decisions are yours.
3. Not veterinary or medical advice
Content on this site is general aquarium-keeping information. It is not veterinary advice. If an animal is sick, consult an aquatic veterinarian or an experienced specialist rather than a calculator.
4. Animal welfare
Where our guidance conflicts with the welfare of the animals you keep, the animals win. Minimum tank sizes and group sizes are floors, not targets; if your fish are outgrowing their tank, rehoming or upgrading is the right call regardless of what any verdict on this site says.
5. Content use
Personal, non-commercial use of the calculators and guides is free. Republishing substantial portions of the database or guides requires permission; quoting with a link back to the source page is always fine.
6. Limitation of liability
