How sources are used

  • Species profiles cite the registries behind each record — shown at the bottom of every fish page with the access date.
  • Compatibility guides merge both species’ sources plus our editorial interpretation, and print the rule version alongside the review date.
  • Calculators separate physics (unit conversions, glass density, water density) from hobby rules of thumb, and each result card shows its assumptions.
  • When sources disagree, we pick the conservative figure and say so in the “Editorial note” on the page.
